Pittsford Mixed Border

This design utilized an existing privacy berm to create a vibrant new mixed border with a focus on spring and fall interest for clients who vacation in summer. Incorporating both native and traditional garden plants, the plantings were designed to spread and grow into each other according to their cultural preferences on the sloping and partially shaded site to create a naturalistic and lush garden. A border was added using stones from the client’s lake house and a short stairway was built to provide access to a woodpile tucked into a back corner. The installation took place in two stages in 2021.
