Geneva Garden

This homeowner inherited a hodgepodge of plants in an existing flower bed that spans the front of the house. An experienced gardener, the homeowner nonetheless wanted help making sense of the space while incorporating many of the existing plants. The design creates cohesion and makes a statement, with varying foliage colors and textures; trees, shrubs, and tall perennials to create structure; and a variety of flowering perennials to put on a show from spring to fall. Space is made in the front for a sculptural element to center one’s attention, and trees are added in the yard to frame views from the road.
